1.
Probably audible. I didn't have anything to do with it.
2.
space boy 03:07
something about being in space.
3.
59 03:35
fuck knows. I may not have listened to it
4.
I have almost no memory of this track beyond the title and the knowledge that i played bass on it
5.
it's a song about rain written by guys from EK. Groundbreaking concept there.
6.
I have little memory of this song. Having listened to it, it is actually a totally different song sung by Ewan (not bow). Some interesting lyrical choices on display here
7.
Slave to it 04:39
Not sure about lyrics. I think this was one of the tracks I liked playing a bit more
8.
Desperado 04:30
Limited and boring bass line on this song. I think I tried to take a photograph of the contents of my underwear while playing this once. The bass line was that easy. Thankfully that was before the era of the iPhone
9.
no words
10.
Mrs Green 03:08
a tribute to green day. fun to play I think
11.
can't remember what this sounds like but from memory the lyrics are interesting. possibly the only used of the term chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in a pop song (seriously wtf?). written by a trainee nurse. At the time I had no medical knowledge or interest in medicine and only later came to understand the lyrics
12.
Hey Pig! 03:41
should be audible
13.
song title is from the insect repellant. my understanding is that they wrote this after being bitten by midges on a camping trip. I can't remember what the song sounds like
14.
Daydreamer 03:22
I have no memory of this song at all. I don't know if I was allowed to play on it. If there is bass on there it is me.
15.
song title was inspired by me (funky) saying that I was an enemy of the sun. I can't remember if I meant the newspaper or the glowing ball of fire in the sky but I stand by that position to this day. I think I liked the bass line. We tried to make this one heavy and I think that this live tape had no bottom end to it at all
16.
20F cent boi 02:36
trad.
17.
something about philosophy. Not Kant. Also a lot of idiotic abuse directed at the triumphant and proud wielder of the cow bell

about

This is a collection of songs recorded over a 3 year period by Punani, a band I played bass for. For the most part playing with these guys was fun. Some of the song titles and lyrics were not entirely to my liking but I respect the other guys and their choices. We did fight about most of it (as guys in bands do) but we did have that music gang mindset that is fun.

This music is from 1997 to 2000. I was only ever a temporary member of the band until they found a real bass player. When I joined they had a really shit name then I booked a gig under the name 'lost orgasms'. People wanted to change that name so I suggested 'Punani' from the Sublime song 'superstar punani' and that slightly daft name stuck for 3 years. After I left to go to medical school in England they chose the much better name 'shooting muck' and found another bass player (shout out to big John) before finally dissolving

So this was Punani, the last gang I was in

Enjoy
